In Sunday's non-league contest, the host Walton-Verona Bearcats basketball team scored a close 58-52 triumph over the Russell Red Devils.

The Bearcats (8-4) will now prepare for their contest against Carroll County (Carrollton, KY). The Panthers go into the non-league contest with a 3-8 record. In their last contest, Carroll County edged Columbus Christian (Columbus, IN), 71-42, in a non-league challenge.
