Tennessee High School Basketball - Wayne County toppled by Loretto
December 29, 2024: Loretto, TN 38469 Loretto Mustangs (Loretto, TN) boosters left the game satisfied Sunday as they witnessed their basketball squad notch a victory over the visiting Wayne County Wildcats (Waynesboro, TN), 49-36 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Loretto upgrades its record to 9-6 on the year. The Mustangs travel to Lewis County (Hohenwald, TN) to face the Panthers in a 2A District 10 match on Friday, January 3. The Panthers enter the match with a record of 0-5.
The Wildcats now sport a 5-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Huntland for a non-league match on Friday, January 3. Wayne County will face a Hornets squad coming off a 36-25 non-league loss to DeKalb County (Smithville, TN). The Hornets record now stands at 8-8.
