In Saturday's non-league outing, the Iowa Colony Pioneers (Arcola, TX) basketball squad edged the host North Shore Mustangs (Houston, TX), by a count of 74-69.

The Pioneers (8-1) will now prepare for their outing against Deer Park (Deer Park, TX). The Deer go into the non-league outing with a 8-4 record. In their last outing, Deer Park was tipped by Friendswood (Friendswood, TX), 64-62, in a non-league outing.
