Virginia High School Basketball - Powhatan nips Freeman
December 3, 2022: Powhatan, VA 23139 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Powhatan Indians (Powhatan, VA) and the visiting Freeman Mavericks (Richmond, VA), saw Powhatan's basketball squad hold off Freeman by a tally of 42-38.
With the victory, Powhatan improves its record to 2-1 on the campaign. The Indians host Goochland (Goochland, VA) to play the Bulldogs in a non-league challenge on Monday, December 5. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a record of 0-1. Goochland lost 55-11 in their recent non-league challenge against Caroline (Milford, VA)
Next up, the Mavericks play the Maggie Walker (Richmond, VA) in a Colonial challenge, on Tuesday, December 6. Freeman will attempt to improve on its 1-2 season record. The come into the challenge with a 3-0 record after their 57-10 non-league win over Appomattox Regional Governor's Arts & Tech (Petersburg, VA).
