Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Douglas Tigers (Minden, NV) and the visiting Fernley Vaqueros (Fernley, NV), saw Douglas's basketball squad hold off Fernley by a tally of 48-43.

With the victory, Douglas improves its record to 7-3 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to McQueen (Reno, NV) to confront the Lancers in a 5A North challenge on Tuesday, January 4. The Lancers come into the challenge with a record of 8-3. McQueen lost 58-44 in their recent non-league challenge against Spring Creek (Spring Creek, NV)

Next up, the Vaqueros confront the Wooster Colts (Reno, NV) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, January 6. Fernley will attempt to improve on its 8-6 season record.
