Virginia High School Basketball - Abingdon fells Byrd
December 30, 2022: Vinton, VA 24179 Abingdon Falcons (Abingdon, VA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Byrd Terriers (Vinton, VA), 63-53 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Abingdon upgrades its record to 6-3 on the season. The Falcons host Lee (Jonesville, VA) to clash with the Generals in a Mountain bout on Tuesday, January 3. The Generals go into the bout with a record of 1-4. Lee lost 83-62 in their recent non-league bout against Twin Springs (Nickelsville, VA)
Next up, the Terriers clash with the Christiansburg Blue Demons (Christiansburg, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 3. Byrd will attempt to improve on its 3-5 season record. The Blue Demons come into the challenge with a 1-9 record after their 53-30 non-league loss to James River (Buchanan, VA).
