December 30, 2022: Anderson, TX 77830 Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Anderson-Shiro Fighting Owls (Anderson, TX) and the visiting Elkhart Elks (Elkhart, TX), saw Anderson-Shiro's basketball squad wallop Elkhart by a tally of 49-23.
With the victory, Anderson-Shiro improves its record to 6-14 on the campaign. The Fighting Owls host New Waverly (New Waverly, TX) to confront the Bulldogs in a 3A Region III District 23 challenge on Tuesday, January 3. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a record of 12-5. New Waverly won 43-38 in their recent non-league challenge against Splendora (Splendora, TX)
Next up, the Elks confront the Mexia Black Cats (Mexia, TX) in a 3A Region III District 20 challenge, on Tuesday, January 3. Elkhart will attempt to improve on its 7-14 season record. The Black Cats come into the challenge with a 16-5 record after their 55-37 non-league win over Central Heights (Nacogdoches, TX).
