Catholic Crusaders (Virginia Beach, VA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Carmel Christian Cougars (Matthews, NC), 52-49 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Catholic upgrades its record to 10-2 on the season. The Crusaders host Norview (Norfolk, VA) to clash with the Pilots in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 3. The Pilots go into the bout with a record of 5-2. Norview won 71-67 in their recent non-league bout against Norfolk Collegiate (Norfolk, VA)

Next up, the Cougars clash with the Gaston Christian Eagles (Gastonia, NC) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 5. Carmel Christian will attempt to upgrade on its 17-3 season record.
