Illinois High School Basketball - Elgin can't hold off Shepard
December 30, 2022: Elgin, IL 60120 The Elgin Maroons basketball team (Elgin, IL), was nudged 45-41 in Friday's non-league battle with the visiting Shepard Astros (Palos Heights, IL)
The Astros now possess a 8-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Thornton Fractional North for a South Suburban battle on Tuesday, January 10. Shepard will battle a Meteors team coming off a 51-50 non-league loss to Fenwick (Oak Park, IL). The Meteors record now stands at 8-2.
The Maroons (8-7) will now prepare for their battle against Glenbard East (Lombard, IL). The Rams come into the Upstate Eight battle with a 3-11 record. In their last battle, Glenbard East was nudged by Oak Forest (Oak Forest, IL), 87-83, in a non-league battle.
