Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the St. Mary Gaels (Rutherford, NJ) and the visiting Paramus Spartans (Paramus, NJ), saw St. Mary's basketball squad hold off Paramus by a tally of 47-45.

With the victory, St. Mary improves its record to 6-0 on the campaign. The Gaels travel to Hackensack (Hackensack, NJ) to confront the Comets in a non-league challenge on Sunday, January 1. The Comets come into the challenge with a record of 4-2. Hackensack won 59-57 in their recent non-league challenge against Newark Tech (Newark, NJ)

Next up, the Spartans confront the DePaul Catholic Spartans (Wayne, NJ) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, January 5. Paramus will attempt to improve on its 3-3 season record. The Spartans come into the challenge with a 4-2 record after their 63-53 league loss to Don Bosco Prep (Ramsey, NJ).
