The Southwestern Wildcats basketball team (Hazel Green, WI), was nudged 69-65 in Friday's non-league battle with the visiting Scales Mound Hornets (Scales Mound, IL)

The Hornets now possess a 13-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Warren for a Northwest Upstate Illini - West battle on Tuesday, January 3. Scales Mound will battle a Warriors team coming off a 69-52 non-league win over Argyle (Argyle, WI). The Warriors record now stands at 7-2.

The Wildcats (5-3) will now prepare for their battle against Darlington (Darlington, WI). The Redbirds come into the Southwest Wisconsin Activities battle with a 7-2 record. In their last battle, Darlington edged Potosi (Potosi, WI), 93-65, in a non-league battle.
