Texas High School Basketball - Athens can't hold off Rains

The Wildcats now possess a 15-10 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Grand Saline for a 3A Region II District 12 battle on Tuesday, January 3. Rains will battle a Indians team coming off a 40-29 non-league win over Bonham (Bonham, TX). The Indians record now stands at 13-6.
The Hornets (1-11) will now prepare for their battle against Cumberland Academy (Tyler, TX). The Knights come into the 4A Region II District 16 battle with a 5-11 record. In their last battle, Cumberland Academy was nudged by Mabank (Mabank, TX), 53-7, in a league battle.
