Texas High School Basketball - East Central thwarts Smithson Valley

The East Central Hornets (San Antonio, TX) basketball knocked off the visiting Smithson Valley Rangers (Spring Branch, TX), 58-44 in Friday's non-league test.

The Hornets (19-7) will now prepare for their test against Clemens (Schertz, TX). The Buffaloes go into the 6A Region IV District 27 test with a 13-10 record. In their last test, Clemens went down by Midway (Waco, TX), 57-54, in a non-league test.

The Rangers now sport a 9-15 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Canyon for a 5A Region IV District 26 contest on Friday, January 6.
