The Wayne Preparatory Academy (Goldsboro, NC) varsity basketball team lost Friday's home tournament game against New Bern (NC) by a score of 62-46.
The New Bern Bears basketball team scored 62 points and held the host Wayne Preparatory Academy Generals to 46 in the Bears non-league triumph on Friday.
The Bears now sport a 7-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Northside - Jacksonville for a 3A/4A Conference 19 contest on Tuesday, January 3. New Bern will battle a Monarchs team coming off a 53-41 league loss to J.H. Rose (Greenville, NC). The Monarchs record now stands at 1-9.
The Generals (6-7) will now prepare for their contest against Winston-Salem Christian (Winston-Salem, NC). The Lions enter the non-league contest with a 15-2 record. In their last contest, Winston-Salem Christian ran past Friendship Collegiate Academy (Washington, DC), 54-36, in a non-league contest.
