December 30, 2023: Effingham, IL 62401 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Belvidere Bucs (Belvidere, IL) and the host Effingham Flaming Hearts (Effingham, IL), saw Belvidere's basketball squad overcome Effingham by a tally of 59-46.
With the victory, Belvidere improves its record to 2-12 on the campaign. The Bucs travel to Hononegah (Rockton, IL) to confront the Indians in a Northern Illinois 10 challenge on Wednesday, January 3. The Indians come into the challenge with a record of 4-8. Hononegah lost 54-46 in their recent non-league challenge against Eastland (Lanark, IL)
Next up, the Flaming Hearts confront the Richland County Tigers (Olney, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 2. Effingham will attempt to improve on its 2-11 season record. The Tigers come into the challenge with a 12-2 record after their 60-53 non-league win over Pinckneyville (Pinckneyville, IL).
