Illinois High School Basketball - Seneca nudges Charleston
December 30, 2023: Seneca, IL 61360 Seneca Fighting Irish (Seneca, IL) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Charleston Trojans (Charleston, IL), 58-51 in a non-league challenge.
With the victory, Seneca improves its record to 9-4 on the campaign. The Fighting Irish host Henry-Senachwine (Henry, IL) to play the Mallards in a Tri-County challenge on Friday, January 5. The Mallards come into the challenge with a record of 5-9. Henry-Senachwine won 53-46 in their recent non-league challenge against Midland (Varna, IL)
Next up, the Trojans play the Casey-Westfield Warriors (Casey, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 2. Charleston will attempt to improve on its 7-7 season record. The Warriors come into the challenge with a 9-5 record after their 46-42 non-league loss to Greencastle (Greencastle, IN).
