In Saturday's non-league match, the visiting Eastwood Troopers basketball team scored a tight 61-57 triumph over the Hillcrest Panthers.

In their next game, the Troopers meet the Eastlake Falcons (El Paso, TX) in a 6A Region I District 1 match, on Friday, January 5. Eastwood will attempt to better on its 14-8 season record.

With the defeat, Hillcrest moves to 7-10 on the year. The Panthers travel to Wilson (Dallas, TX) to meet the Wildcats in a 5A Region II District 11 match on Wednesday, January 3. The Wildcats enter the match with a record of 12-9. Wilson lost 66-62 in their recent non-league match against Red Oak (Red Oak, TX)
