December 30, 2023: Luverne, AL 36049 The New Brockton Gamecocks (New Brockton, AL) basketball nipped the host Luverne Tigers (Luverne, AL), 61-59 in Saturday's non-league test.
The Gamecocks (8-10) will now prepare for their test against Daleville (Daleville, AL). The Warhawks go into the 3A Area 4 test with a 7-8 record. In their last test, Daleville was tipped by Houston Academy (Dothan, AL), 70-41, in a non-league test.
The Tigers now own a 6-5 record. They play next when they host Zion Chapel for a 2A Area 4 test on Friday, January 5. Luverne will encounter a Rebels squad coming off a 68-47 non-league win over Wicksburg (Newton, AL). The Rebels record now stands at 14-4.
