In Saturday's non-league match, the visiting Mica Mountain Thunderbolts basketball team scored a tight 56-50 triumph over the Cactus Shadows Falcons.

In their next game, the Thunderbolts face the Sahuarita Mustangs (Sahuarita, AZ) in a 4A Gila match, on Monday, January 8. Mica Mountain will attempt to move on its 9-6 season record. The Mustangs enter the match with a 12-6 record after their 67-56 league loss to Douglas (Douglas, AZ).
