Canton Warriors (Canton, PA) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Millville Quakers (Millville, PA), 39-35 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Canton upgrades its record to 4-6 on the campaign. The Warriors host Cowanesque Valley (Westfield, PA) to play the Indians in a Northern Tier - Small bout on Wednesday, January 3. The Indians come into the bout with a record of 1-4. Cowanesque Valley lost 36-21 in their recent league bout against North Penn-Mansfield (Mansfield, PA)

Next up, the Quakers play the Sullivan County Griffins (Laporte, PA) in a Mid-Penn - D4 bout, on Wednesday, January 3. Millville will attempt to upgrade on its 5-5 season record. The Griffins come into the bout with a 1-4 record after their 30-26 league loss to Benton (Benton, PA).
