California High School Basketball - Cardinal Newman tops Paramount
December 30, 2023: Paramount, CA 90723 Cardinal Newman Cardinals (Santa Rosa, CA) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Paramount Pirates (Paramount, CA), 70-60 in a non-league bout.
With the victory, Cardinal Newman upgrades its record to 13-2 on the campaign. The Cardinals travel to Maria Carrillo (Santa Rosa, CA) to play the Pumas in a North Bay - Oak bout on Thursday, January 4. The Pumas come into the bout with a record of 10-3. Maria Carrillo won 63-43 in their recent non-league bout against Foothill (Palo Cedro, CA)
Next up, the Pirates play the Downey Vikings (Downey, CA) in a Gateway bout, on Wednesday, January 3. Paramount will attempt to upgrade on its 15-4 season record. The Vikings come into the bout with a 9-9 record after their 52-49 non-league loss to Moscow (Moscow, ID).
