Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Summit Academy Bears (Bluffdale, UT) and the host East Leopards (Salt Lake City, UT), saw Summit Academy's basketball squad hold off East by a tally of 50-48.

With the victory, Summit Academy improves its record to 9-4 on the campaign. The Bears host Providence Hall (Herriman, UT) to play the Patriots in a 3A Region 14 challenge on Tuesday, January 9. The Patriots come into the challenge with a record of 6-5.
