In Saturday's non-league match, the host Gilbert Tigers basketball team scored a tight 40-37 triumph over the Window Rock Fighting Scouts.

In their next game, the Tigers meet the Xavier College Prep Gators (Phoenix, AZ) in a non-league match, on Tuesday, January 9. Gilbert will attempt to move on its 14-1 season record. The Gators enter the match with a 13-3 record after their 80-3 non-league win over Boulder Creek (Anthem, AZ).

With the defeat, Window Rock moves to 9-2 on the year. The Fighting scouts travel to Ganado (Ganado, AZ) to meet the Hornets in a 3A North match on Wednesday, January 3.
