Texas High School Basketball - Johnson City can't hold off Shiner
December 30, 2023: Shiner, TX 77984 The Shiner Comanches basketball team scored 42 points and restricted the visiting Johnson City Eagles to 37 in the Comanches non-league victory on Saturday.
The Comanches now sport a 19-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Sacred Heart for a non-league contest on Tuesday, January 2. Shiner will battle a Indians team coming off a 57-45 non-league loss to Bloomington (Bloomington, TX). The Indians record now stands at 4-9.
The Eagles (20-2) will now prepare for their contest against Junction (Junction, TX). The Eagles come into the 2A Region IV District 29 contest with a 2-3 record. In their last contest, Junction was nudged by Sabinal (Sabinal, TX), 31-24, in a non-league contest.
