The Salmen Spartans basketball team (Slidell, LA), dropped 66-55 in Saturday's non-league battle with the host Smith County Owls (Carthage, TN)

The Owls now possess a 7-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Monterey for a 2A District 5 battle on Friday, January 5. Smith County will battle a Wildcats team coming off a 60-49 non-league win over LEAD Academy (Nashville, TN). The Wildcats record now stands at 4-5.
