Arizona High School Basketball - Valley thwarts Skyline

The Valley Pirates (Sanders, AZ) basketball knocked off the host Skyline Coyotes (Mesa, AZ), 63-49 in Saturday's non-league test.

The Pirates (7-5) will now prepare for their test against Hopi (Keams Canyon, AZ). The Bruins go into the 2A North test with a 6-6 record. In their last test, Hopi notched a victory over Pinon (Pinon, AZ), 48-45, in a league test.

The Coyotes now own a 9-7 record. They play next when they host Mountain View for a 6A East Valley test on Tuesday, January 9. Skyline will encounter a Toros squad coming off a 64-32 non-league loss to Cibola (Yuma, AZ). The Toros record now stands at 8-7.
