Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Sunrise Mountain Miners (Las Vegas, NV) and the host Valley Center Jaguars (Valley Center, CA), saw Sunrise Mountain's basketball squad overcome Valley Center by a tally of 49-34.

With the victory, Sunrise Mountain improves its record to 9-6 on the campaign. The Miners travel to Canyon Springs (North Las Vegas, NV) to confront the Pioneers in a 4A Desert challenge on Thursday, January 4. The Pioneers come into the challenge with a record of 8-3.

Next up, the Jaguars confront the Vista Panthers (Vista, CA) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, January 5. Valley Center will attempt to improve on its 4-6 season record. The Panthers come into the challenge with a 14-3 record after their 73-43 non-league loss to Steele Canyon (Spring Valley, CA).
