Texas High School Basketball - Sands sneaks past Garden City
December 30, 2024: Garden City, TX 79739 The Sands Mustangs (Ackerly, TX) basketball edged the host Garden City Bearkats (Garden City, TX), 54-50 in Monday's non-league bout.
The Mustangs now possess a 11-4 record. They play next when they travel to Wilson for a non-league bout on Friday, January 3. Sands will play a Mustangs team coming off a 79-32 non-league loss to Klondike (Lamesa, TX). The Mustangs record now stands at 3-9.
With the loss, Garden City falls to 3-11 on the campaign. The Bearkats travel to Blackwell (Blackwell, TX) to play the Hornets in a 1A Region II District 11 bout on Friday, January 3. The Hornets go into the outing with a record of 0-4. Blackwell lost 55-18 in their recent league outing against Water Valley (Water Valley, TX)
