In Monday's non-league contest, the host Ponaganset Chieftains basketball team scored a big 64-30 win over the Cumberland Clippers.

The Chieftains (6-1) will now prepare for their contest against La Salle Academy (Providence, RI). The Rams come into the Division 1 contest with a 2-4 record. In their last contest, La Salle Academy was trounced by Londonderry (Londonderry, NH), 52-20, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Clippers battle the Rogers Vikings (Newport, RI) in a Division 2 contest, on Saturday, January 4. Cumberland will attempt to better on its 2-3 season record. The Vikings come into the contest with a 1-3 record after their 41-40 league loss to Scituate (North Scituate, RI).
