West Virginia High School Basketball - Frontier thwarts Valley
December 30, 2025: Pine Grove, WV 26419 The crowd at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Frontier Cougars (New Matamoras, OH) and the host Valley Lumberjacks (Pine Grove, WV), witnessed Frontier's basketball squad run past Valley by a count of 57-40.
With the victory, Frontier advances its record to 6-4 on the year. The Cougars host Waterford (Waterford, OH) to meet the Wildcats in a non-league battle on Saturday, January 3. The Wildcats enter the battle with a record of 2-7. Waterford lost 52-43 in their recent non-league battle against River Valley (Bidwell, OH)
The Lumberjacks now own a 1-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Cameron for a Ohio Valley AA battle on Friday, January 2. Valley will battle a Dragons team coming off a 57-55 non-league loss to Magnolia (New Martinsville, WV). The Dragons record now stands at 1-5.
