Texas High School Basketball - Chireno holds off Wells
December 31, 2021: Chireno, TX 75937 Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Chireno Owls (Chireno, TX) and the visiting Wells Pirates (Wells, TX), saw Chireno's basketball squad hold off Wells by a tally of 43-42.
With the victory, Chireno improves its record to 6-8 on the campaign. The Owls host Zavalla (Zavalla, TX) to confront the Eagles in a 1A Region IV District 28 challenge on Tuesday, January 4. The Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 9-2. Zavalla won 58-34 in their recent non-league challenge against Trinity Christian Academy (Paris, TX)
Next up, the Pirates confront the Kennard Tigers (Kennard, TX) in a 1A Region IV District 27 challenge, on Tuesday, January 4. Wells will attempt to improve on its 7-12 season record. The Tigers come into the challenge with a 5-10 record after their 68-36 non-league loss to Frankston (Frankston, TX).
