The Alta Hawks (Sandy, UT) basketball edged the visiting Murray Spartans (Murray, UT), 52-51 in Tuesday's non-league bout.

The Hawks now possess a 6-5 record. They play next when they travel to East for a 5A Region 6 bout on Friday, January 3. Alta will play a Leopards team coming off a 59-18 non-league loss to Fremont (Plain City, UT). The Leopards record now stands at 2-8.

With the loss, Murray falls to 3-9 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Stansbury (Stansbury Park, UT) to play the Stallions in a 4A Region 10 bout on Tuesday, January 7. The Stallions go into the bout with a record of 5-8. Stansbury lost 70-43 in their recent non-league bout against Dixie (St. George, UT)
