Arkansas High School Basketball - Walnut Ridge nips Hillcrest
December 4, 2023: Strawberry, AR 72469 Walnut Ridge Bobcats (Walnut Ridge, AR) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Hillcrest Screamin Eagles (Strawberry, AR), 54-47 in a non-league bout.
With the victory, Walnut Ridge upgrades its record to 4-1 on the campaign. The Bobcats travel to Salem (Salem, AR) to play the Greyhounds in a 3A Region 2 bout on Friday, December 8. The Greyhounds come into the bout with a record of 0-4. Salem lost 61-39 in their recent league bout against Cave City (Cave City, AR)
Next up, the Screamin Eagles play the Harrisburg Hornets (Harrisburg, AR) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 5. Hillcrest will attempt to upgrade on its 3-13 season record. The Hornets come into the bout with a 0-6 record after their 67-45 league loss to Osceola (Osceola, AR).
