Illinois High School Basketball - Lanphier thwarts Jersey
December 4, 2024: Jerseyville, IL 62052 The crowd at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Lanphier Lions (Springfield, IL) and the host Jersey Panthers (Jerseyville, IL), saw Lanphier's basketball team beat Jersey by a tally of 65-47.
The Lions now possess a 3-0 record. They play next when they host Decatur Eisenhower for a Central State Eight bout on Saturday, December 7. Lanphier will play a Panthers team coming off a 46-42 non-league win over MacArthur (Decatur, IL). The Panthers record now stands at 2-2.
With the loss, Jersey falls to 1-4 on the campaign. The Panthers host Civic Memorial (Bethalto, IL) to play the Eagles in a Mississippi Valley bout on Friday, December 6. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 2-2. Civic Memorial lost 63-44 in their recent non-league bout against Carbondale (Carbondale, IL)
