In Thursday's league contest, the visiting Papillion-LaVista Monarchs basketball team scored a close 72-66 win over the Creighton Prep Junior Jays.

The Monarchs (1-0) will now prepare for their match against Millard South (Omaha, NE). The Patriots enter the A District 5 match with a 1-0 record. In their last match, Millard South got by Papillion-LaVista South (Papillion, NE), 69-67, in a non-league match.

The Junior Jays now own a 0-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Norfolk for a non-league match on Tuesday, December 9. Creighton Prep will face a Panthers squad coming off a 73-43 non-league loss to Scottsbluff (Scottsbluff, NE). The Panthers record now stands at 1-1.
