The Eastland Mavericks basketball team scored 40 points and limited the visiting Methodist Children's Home Bulldogs to 32 in the Mavericks non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Mavericks now possess a 1-4 record. They play next when they host Olney for a non-league game on Tuesday, December 9. Eastland will confront a Cubs team coming off a 58-56 non-league win over Millsap (Millsap, TX). The Cubs record now stands at 7-1.
