California High School Basketball - San Mateo sneaks past Homestead
December 4, 2025: San Mateo, CA 94401 The San Mateo Bearcats (San Mateo, CA) basketball edged the visiting Homestead Mustangs (Cupertino, CA), 40-37 in Thursday's non-league bout.
The Bearcats now possess a 3-1 record. They play next when they travel to The Nueva School for a non-league bout on Saturday, December 6. San Mateo will play a Mavericks team coming off a 77-75 non-league loss to North Valley Baptist (Santa Clara, CA). The Mavericks record now stands at 0-1.
With the loss, Homestead falls to 1-2 on the season. The Mustangs travel to Fremont (Sunnyvale, CA) to clash with the Firebirds in a non-league test on Tuesday, December 9. The Firebirds come into the test with a record of 2-2. Fremont won 64-42 in their recent non-league test against Prospect (Saratoga, CA)
