In Thursday's non-league contest, the host Whetstone Braves basketball squad scored a tight 45-38 victory over the Independence 76ers.

With the victory, Whetstone upgrades its record to 1-0 on the year. The Braves travel to Mifflin (Columbus, OH) to face the Punchers in a Columbus City - North match on Tuesday, December 9. The Punchers enter the match with a record of 2-1. Mifflin won 66-48 in their recent non-league match against Briggs (Columbus, OH)

The 76ers now sport a 0-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Centennial for a non-league match on Saturday, December 6. Independence will face a Stars squad coming off a 82-40 non-league win over Worthington Christian (Worthington, OH). The Stars record now stands at 2-0.
