Somerset Bulldogs (Somerset, TX) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting John Paul II Guardians (New Braunfels, TX), 68-63 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Somerset upgrades its record to 9-5 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Southwest (San Antonio, TX) to play the Dragons in a non-league bout on Friday, December 9. The Dragons come into the bout with a record of 4-6. Southwest won 51-48 in their recent non-league bout against Davenport (San Antonio, TX)

Next up, the Guardians play the Central Catholic Buttons (San Antonio, TX) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 16. John Paul II will attempt to upgrade on its 4-10 season record.
