Ohio High School Basketball - Southern holds off Wellston
December 5, 2023: Racine, OH 45771 Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Southern Tornadoes (Racine, OH) and the visiting Wellston Golden Rockets (Wellston, OH), saw Southern's basketball squad hold off Wellston by a tally of 55-51.
With the victory, Southern improves its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Tornadoes host Trimble (Glouster, OH) to confront the Tomcats in a Tri-Valley II challenge on Friday, December 8. The Tomcats come into the challenge with a record of 1-0. Trimble won 69-37 in their recent non-league challenge against Miller (Corning, OH)
Next up, the Golden Rockets confront the Athens Bulldogs (The Plains, OH) in a Tri-Valley I challenge, on Friday, December 8. Wellston will attempt to improve on its 0-2 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 0-2 record after their 53-50 league loss to Belpre (Belpre, OH).
