William Blount Governors (Maryville, TN) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host McMinn County Cherokees (Athens, TN), 62-53 in a non-league bout.

With the win, William Blount upgrades its record to 5-3 on the season. The Governors host Heritage (Maryville, TN) to play the Mountaineers in a non-league bout on Friday, December 8. The Mountaineers go into the bout with a record of 5-0. Heritage won 61-38 in their recent non-league bout against Maryville (Maryville, TN)

Next up, the Cherokees play the Sweetwater Wildcats (Sweetwater, TN) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 8. McMinn County will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record. The Wildcats go into the bout with a 1-6 record after their 53-42 non-league loss to Loudon (Loudon, TN).
