East Ascension Spartans (Gonzales, LA) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host East St. John Wildcats (Reserve, LA), 61-56 in a non-league bout.

With the win, East Ascension upgrades its record to 3-2 on the season. The Spartans host Donaldsonville (Donaldsonville, LA) to clash with the Tigers in a non-league bout on Friday, December 8. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 3-3. Donaldsonville won 48-34 in their recent non-league bout against Livonia (Livonia, LA)

Next up, the Wildcats clash with the Dutchtown Griffins (Geismar, LA) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, December 7. East St. John will attempt to upgrade on its 1-1 season record. The Griffins go into the bout with a 4-5 record after their 42-38 non-league win over White Castle (White Castle, LA).
