Virginia High School Basketball - Oakton nips Yorktown
December 6, 2023: Arlington, VA 22207 Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Oakton Cougars (Vienna, VA) and the host Yorktown Patriots (Arlington, VA), saw Oakton's basketball squad hold off Yorktown by a tally of 57-55.
With the victory, Oakton improves its record to 1-1 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Lewis (Springfield, VA) to play the Lancers in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, December 12. The Lancers come into the challenge with a record of 0-1. Lewis lost 50-18 in their recent non-league challenge against Falls Church (Falls Church, VA)
Next up, the Patriots play the Potomac Senior Panthers (Dumfries, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, December 12. Yorktown will attempt to improve on its 0-3 season record. The Panthers come into the challenge with a 3-0 record after their 83-21 non-league win over Woodson (Washington, DC).
