The Freer Buckaroos (Freer, TX) basketball edged the host Progreso Red Ants (Progreso, TX), 52-46 in Friday's non-league bout.

The Buckaroos now possess a 5-1 record. They play next when they travel to Raymondville for a non-league bout on Saturday, December 7. Freer will play a Bearkats team coming off a 51-35 non-league win over San Isidro (San Isidro, TX). The Bearkats record now stands at 6-1.

With the loss, Progreso falls to 1-5 on the campaign. The Red ants travel to Santa Rosa (Santa Rosa, TX) to play the Warriors in a 3A Region IV District 32 bout on Tuesday, December 10.
