The Mt. Vernon Mustangs basketball team scored 77 points and limited the visiting Grinnell Tigers to 20 in the Mustangs non-league triumph on Friday.

The Mustangs now possess a 3-1 record. They play next when they travel to Benton for a non-league game on Tuesday, December 10. Mt. Vernon will confront a Bobcats team coming off a 50-21 non-league loss to West Delaware (Manchester, IA). The Bobcats record now stands at 0-2.

With the loss, Grinnell falls to 1-2 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Oskaloosa (Oskaloosa, IA) to confront the Indians in a Little Hawkeye game on Monday, December 9.
