The Weir Red Riders (Weirton, WV) basketball edged the visiting Linsly Cadets (Wheeling, WV), 52-49 in Friday's non-league bout.

The Red Riders now possess a 1-0 record. They play next when they travel to Nitro for a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 10. Weir will play a Wildcats team coming off a 53-37 non-league loss to Greenbrier East (Lewisburg, WV). The Wildcats record now stands at 0-1.
