Mt. Eden Monarchs (Hayward, CA) backers were thrilled Saturday as they saw their basketball team topple the host Mid-Pacific Institute Owls (Honolulu, HI), 65-56 in a non-league game.

The Monarchs now have a 2-2 record. They play next when they host Amador Valley for a non-league game on Tuesday, December 9. Mt. Eden will confront a Dons team coming off a 77-28 non-league loss to St. Ignatius College Preparatory (San Francisco, CA). The Dons record now stands at 2-3.

The Owls (4-5) will now prepare for their outing against Kahuku (Kahuku, HI). The Red Raiders enter the non-league outing with a 4-4 record. In their last outing, Kahuku was defeated by Christian Brothers (Sacramento, CA), 82-60, in a non-league outing.
