In Saturday's non-league contest, the visiting Wheeler Eagles basketball team scored a big 87-55 triumph over the Shannon Red Raiders.

The Eagles (6-4) will now prepare for their contest against Jumpertown (Booneville, MS). The Cardinals enter the 1A Region 1 match with a 2-8 record. In their last match, Jumpertown was overwhelmed by Thrasher (Booneville, MS), 54-43, in a league match.

The Red Raiders now sport a 2-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Okolona for a non-league match on Tuesday, December 9. Shannon will confront a Chieftains team coming off a 67-50 non-league win over Aberdeen (Aberdeen, MS). The Chieftains record now stands at 5-1.
