California High School Basketball - Portola succumbs to Esperanza
December 6, 2025: Irvine, CA 92618 In Saturday's non-league test, the Esperanza Aztecs (Anaheim, CA) basketball squad defeated the host Portola Bulldogs (Irvine, CA), by a final score of 49-34.
Next, the Aztecs clash with the Fountain Valley Barons (Fountain Valley, CA) in a non-league bout, on Monday, December 8. Esperanza will attempt to move on its 4-4 season record. The Barons go into the bout with a 2-3 record after their 53-42 non-league loss to Tesoro (Rancho Santa Margarita, CA).
With the loss, Portola falls to 5-5 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host San Juan Hills (San Juan Capistrano, CA) to play the Stallions in a non-league bout on Friday, December 12.
