Texas High School Basketball - Denver City can't hold off Slaton
December 7, 2021: Slaton, TX 79364 The Slaton Tigers basketball team scored 62 points and held the visiting Denver City Mustangs to 55 in the Tigers non-league triumph on Tuesday.
The Tigers now sport a 6-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Floydada for a non-league contest on Thursday, December 9. Slaton will battle a Whirlwinds team coming off a 63-58 non-league win over Littlefield (Littlefield, TX). The Whirlwinds record now stands at 3-1.
The Mustangs (3-3) will now prepare for their contest against Lubbock (Lubbock, TX). The Westerners enter the non-league contest with a 6-4 record. In their last contest, Lubbock nudged Lamesa (Lamesa, TX), 65-54, in a non-league contest.
